FAQ
How long does the Basic Training take?
Basic General Military Training (BGMT) is essential for every servicemember.
In the National Guard of Ukraine, BGMT lasts for 54 days. The program covers a wide range of training and exercises, including patriotic education, UAV (drone) operations, electronic warfare (EW), and cyber defense.
BGMT consists of various courses — an introductory course, individual training (marksmanship, tactical techniques, military medicine, physical training, psychological preparation, military topography, mine safety, and more), unit-based action training, and comprehensive tactical exercises.
After completing BGMT, Omega Special Forces soldiers undergo additional training depending on their chosen specialization.

Contract or mobilization?
The choice between serving under a contract or through mobilization depends on your personal goals, life circumstances, and readiness for military service.
Mobilized personnel enjoy all the rights and benefits and have the same opportunities as contract servicemembers, including provisions, rank promotions, and career advancement.
The main advantage of a contract is the ability to choose the unit for service as well as the specialty.
Mobilized servicemembers have more grounds for release from military service due to family circumstances compared to those serving under a contract.

I’m not quite sure about the units — who they are, how they are organized, and how they are connected? Can I join the Kyiv unit if I’m from Odesa?
The Omega Special Purpose Center is based in Kyiv. All units report directly to the Special Purpose Center. The units are located in various cities across Ukraine — Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa, Oleksandriia, and Kyiv. At the same time, these units conduct special operations along the entire contact line.
Yes, you can join any unit regardless of its base location or your place of residence. If you are from Odesa, you may apply to join any unit.
We look forward to receiving your applications!
